Comments Great website! I sure do miss those days of living in Panama. It was a wonderful place to grow up. My dad was in the FAA and we lived in Cardenas from 1963 thru 1971. Would love to hear from anyone who may have lived there during those days. The last school I went to was 10th grade at Balboa High. Hope to hear from someone soon!

Comments Hello to all who remember me or my family, my father Robert Womble Sr.(Biscuit)still works for the Canal and lives in La Boca, I just came back from 2 years and 7 months in Bosnia & Herzegovina working for the Peace Stabilization Force as a Fire Battalion Chief, I am now in Manta Ecuador doing the same thing with the USAF, in there counterdrug operation that has been established here to replace the missions that were lost with the closure of Howard AFB Panama. Slowly but surely I am making my way back home to Panama. Great website and tool for keeping in touch with people that in other times may have been long gone a forgotten after so many years. Comments served as a Military Police Sgt with the 549th MP Co from 1970 to 1976. I was the hated traffic sgt. who ran radar a lot on the old S-2 Rd to Ft Sherman and the beaches. I was set to stay in the CZ and join the Canal Zone Police, but there was freeze on hiring when my tour ended. I was in love with a girl who worked at the CZ College Ofc (Florida St Univ.-CZ Branch) in Ft Davis. Her first name was Cheryl and she knows the last name she used when she lived there just in case she reads this and gets ahold of me.
I had a lot of friends there and loved the place. I still hear from some to this day.

Comments Haven't been here in a while - good to see the site is still going strong. My son loves the music and enjoys the pictures. He was asking me about the picture of the bridge on the opening page and was facinated with the webcam of the locks. I get to tell him of all my exploits while in Panama during my high school years - sad I can't raise him there, he would love it! I miss the food, the culture, the life style, the weather, the smells and the beautiful scenery - miss everything. Most of all I miss the wonderful joyful, friendly, soulful people from the Zone and Panama. Hope to someday get back for a vacation - left Panama in 1985 and have not been back. Emails from old friends, classmates, etc. welcome - hope to hear from someone.

Comments Cool, hip, far out web page. I used to work for Stolt-Nielsen and was amazed at the results of her collision with the Prairie Sky. After seeing the damage to the Perserverence, which is cosmetic, it is even more amazing. I daresay that if the Canal were still under American control, this would have never, never happened.
