Comments My what a great time I had there. Only when we get older do we realize just how special we were to have been given the chance to experience living in the Canal Zone. My family lived in Balboa from 1958 to 1962, and then moved to Gatun until we left in my 10th year of school. I didn't do anything there except be a true CZ brat, but my brother Wayne played football for Cristobal both in Jr high and Senior high. Sure do hope I get to see it again some day.My family has lived here in Jacksonville now for about 27 years. It would be nice to hear from some old friends. Comments Was a Navy dependent in 1946-47 when my father was a flight surgeon at NAS Coco Solo. We lived in what was then officers housing in the building right next to the Officer's Club which also had a swimming pool. Almost directly in front of our quarters was a gate in the sea wall leading out onto a small pier that we used to go fishing from.

Went through the Canal on a MSTS ship.
Lots of excitement for a 5y/o.

Comments WOW!! Great job on the web-site. I went to Coco Solo Elem. from 2-6th grade then went to the states for 2 years. Returned to CHS for the start of my freshman year only to leave after 8 months because father belonged to the School of The Americas (relocated to Ft. Benning, Ga. along with other CZBrats) Played football for light and Heavyweight Tigers. Childhood friends were Pete Matthews, Ronald Coleman, Scott Hoffman, Andy Helms, Andrew Adema,Junior Iglesias, Tito Motta, Raju. Great memories. Keep the spirit and see you at the reunion.

Comments I spent most of my youth and teenage years in panama. It is great to see names that you know , know you, and others that you wonder if they remember you. I did not graduate from BHS, but I was there in panama from fourth grade until the begginng of my 11th grade year. Then I came back to PCC for two years. Hope to hear from lots of the old crews.

Comments Found the site fascinating. I lived at Ft Amador from '62 to '65. Went to Diablo Heights Elem. for 4-6 grades. That's me standing sideways to the right in the picture from the schools page. The kid beside me was Tad Kinsey, also from Amador and my classmate in the fifth grade annex building where Mr. Burke was our teacher. It was an idyllic time of my life and I have mostly fond memories. Thanks for tapping into them again.

Its almost as good as being there.I was born in Ancon @Gorgas in '64 and spent the first 7 years of my life in Diablo.We went back to visit my grandparents (Larry and Sara Keegan)every year until 1977 when they moved to South Carolina. Mom (Laurie Jo) was born there and attended BHS. Raul Quintero's house was behind ours and we (Ricky, Raul, Cynthia Cunningham and I) went on a minibike ride through the back country. What a blast. This is a great web site. I was born in Margarita and lived in Gatun until 1961 when my father retired. I came back to the Zone in 1964 and my sister Sue and I stayed with the Clement family for the summer. I picked up my year book and saw a lot of friend from when we lived there. I'm going to try to contact some of the people I grew up with in the near future.
